Albury is a regional center with a wholesome country feel. Nestled on the bank of the mighty Murray River and within the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, Albury has a rich agriculture history.
Together with its Victorian twin city, Wodonga (Albury-Wodonga), the town has existed as a major transport stop enroute between Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra.
Beautiful parklands hug the Murray River and provide a memorable setting for fishing, swimming, canoeing, walking and picnics.
Welcome to Wiradjru Country
Albury is situated on the land of the Wiradjuri people. The region, previously known as Bungambrawatha by the local Wiradjrui people was changed to Albury in 1983. Wodonga, meaning bulrushes, retained its Indigenous name and continues to serve as a firm link to the traditional owners of this culturally rich landscape.
